I am 14 and I am thinking about applying for a job, can someone answer some of the questions that I have?

I am thinking about working at a Farm and Fleet type store in my community and I was wondering:
There are three basic things I can apply for, Automotive, Sales, and cashier. I know automotive work isn't my thing. But I was thinking about cashier or sales, but I am not sure what kind of work people do who apply for the "Sales" category. Can someone fill me in on that? Also besides simple math skills what other skills should I have before applying for a cashier job? What is a reasonable salary for a 14 year-old working in a town of about 5,000 people?
